What’s Included in These Sight Word Practice Sheets?
The printable provides a starting point for practicing words in writing. Choose a word your child has already met in a book or lesson, read it together, and use it in a sentence aloud before putting pencil to paper. Print just the pages you want for the day; there is no need to finish the whole download at once.

How to Use These Printables
- Start small. Choose one or two familiar words and say them together.
- Look at the letters. Help your child connect the sounds they know to the spelling, then point out any unexpected part.
- Say it, then write it. Make a short sentence together before your child completes the writing activity.
- Read it back. Ask your child to point to each word as they read their finished work.
Make Word Practice More Fun
Be a word detective: Look for the same word in a favorite picture book. Put a sticky note beside each example, then read the sentences together. Finding a word in a story gives it more meaning than practicing it on its own.
Build, hide, check: Make a word with letter tiles, cover it, and invite your child to rebuild it. Uncover the original to check together. For a movement break, place two word cards across the room and ask your child to walk to the word you say.
Keep practice brief and relaxed. If writing is tiring, let your child dictate the sentence or arrange letter tiles first. A sight word is simply a word a reader recognizes automatically; it does not have to be learned by memorizing its shape alone.
